Saskatchewan Honour Groups: Inspiring the Next Generation of Music Educators

The Saskatchewan Honour Groups program is a premier music student professional development opportunity designed to advance the next generation of music educators and performers. This program brings together talented young musicians from across the province to refine their skills, work with esteemed conductors, and collaborate with peers in an inspiring musical environment.

The program consists of three distinguished ensembles:
Junior Honour Band – A foundational experience for young instrumentalists to develop their skills and musicianship.
Honour Band – A high-level ensemble providing advanced training and performance opportunities.
Honour Choir – A premier choral experience that challenges and elevates vocalists in a dynamic group setting.

Through expert mentorship, intensive rehearsals, and live performances, Honour Groups prepare students for future success in music education and beyond.

The Saskatchewan Music Educators Association is bringing the joy of music directly to daycares, senior centres, and long-term care facilities! Through Music Outreaches, experienced music educators lead engaging, interactive music sessions—sparking creativity, connection, and a love for music.

Our goal? To inspire staff and caregivers to keep the music going long after our visit, creating lasting musical experiences for children and seniors alike. Northern Outreach

The Saskatchewan Music Educators Association is proud to sponsor Cultural Intelligence Facilitator Wilbur Sargunaraj, connecting him with northern communities to bring meaningful music education to youth who have limited access to music educators.

Through engaging workshops, Wilbur uses music to remove cultural barriers and build bridges, fostering understanding and connection.
